JP Morgan Invest
Client’s business imperatives
JP Morgan Invest are one of the UK’s most innovative providers of asset management. They wanted to work with dsicontac to produce a clear and concise Pension Portfolio report for their clients.
They wished to move away from a standard cut-sheet statement with generic enclosed booklets and develop a personalized pack tailored to each individual reflecting their investments. The pack was briefed to be clear and concise bringing in appropriate graphs to support text and tables. They wished to graphically show the split between cash, income and growth elements and also “mine down” into this information in an easy to assimilate format.
Technology/application systems used
Data was received from the client and processed using the Nexdox platform. All calculations and business logic were undertaken on the Nexdox platform with the subsequent production of print files not only including data, but dynamically producing graphs and tables as well. Files were then presented to the digital print department where they were ripped on the creo servers. Print was undertaken on the Xerox DocuColour iGen3 print presses.
Following printing, depending on the desired pack format, collation was undertaken on either dsicontac’s duplo intelligent bar code driven finishing and stitching line or via our own in-house perfect binding line.
Why was the printing solution Innovative?
From flat data, we believe that dsicontac has produced one of the most innovative and dynamic Investment statements in the Financial Services sector. Features include:
Personalized – Every single word and graph is personalized to the individual investor, including not only their investments, but also market commentary relevant to the individual’s investments at the appropriate point in the publication. The pack also had personalized letters produced to explain the contents of the pack and the benefits to the investor.
Use of Imagery – Strong use of graphs and pie charts to show detailed fund and asset allocation.
Layout - Images are scaled and filler pages used to ensure a visually appealing look and feel to each pack, removing the potential of blank space/pages and unsightly pagination.
Multiple data streams – data came form multiple data sources to ensure that we could add value to the pack in terms of content, e.g. plotting years to investment maturity. Additionally, market and investment reviews were obtained from various sources and dynamically integrated into the program.
Dynamic Pagination/Finishing – Dynamic Pagination/Finishing – Based on the end pagination, files were split to cope with the size of the books, e.g. either perfect bound or saddle stitched.
What were the business results enabled by this print?
This bespoke program was written from scratch based on a sample of raw data and a concept document. This innovative application has been very well received not only by the client but also by individual investors. The easy to understand, “plain English” approach supported by supplementary data and graphs etc has been warmly welcomed in a market where it is often difficult for an investor to fully understand the profile and underlying performance of their investment. The personal approach, backed by commentary on relevant markets has been so warmly received by investors that JP Morgan Invest have committed to a repeat order for coming statement runs.
