Ford leases a significant number of vehicles to the public every year; their goal is to compel customers to take out a new policy or trade up to a newer and/or more expensive model at the end of their contracts.
Inspire
Working with Contac, Ford sent customers a personalized mailer that highlighted options for renewing and upgrading their lease one year before the end of their current lease plan. Customers were profiled based on their current vehicle model, lifestyle and other personal information and were offered a customized selection of vehicles along with appropriate financing options. The mailer also included contact details for the dealership nearest to their residence, and an offer to test drive the vehicle likely to be most appealing to each customer based on their individual leasing history.
Execute
The campaign has resulted in increased retention rates of lease plan customers and a staggering 24% response rate to the mailing. Additionally, the majority of customers traded up to a newer, and therefore, more profitable model.
